翻译专业以培养德才兼备，熟悉翻译理论与技巧，熟悉中英文化差异和跨文化交际，具有较强的口笔头英汉互译能力和文字表达能力，有创新意识和国际视野的应用型复合型翻译人才为目标。本专业现有教师26名，教授3名，副教授4名，外籍教师4名；教师教学基本功扎实，在“外教社杯”全国高校外语教学大赛广东赛区获得三等奖；近三年来教师在各类学术期刊上发表论文20余篇，主持4项科研课题，编撰出版了《经贸英语翻译》等专著并用作教材。近五年学生平均就业率97.98%。每年均有学生跨国就业，多名学生考取广东外语外贸大学、广西师范大学等国内知名大学硕士研究生。

The translation major aims to cultivate versatile translators with an innovative mind and an international perspective. Combining ability with political integrity, they are familiar with translation theories and skills, know well about Chinese and English cultural differences and cross-cultural communication. Also, they are competent in interpretation and translation between English and Chinese, as well as written expression.There are 26 professional teachers, including 3 professors, 4 associate professors and 4 foreign teachers. They won the third prize of the "Foreign Teachers' Club" National College Foreign Language Teaching Contest (Guangdong division). In the past three years, they have published more than 20 papers in various academic journals and presided 4 scientific research projects. They compiled and published monographs such asBusiness English Translationand used them as teaching materials. The average employment rate of the graduates in the past five years has been 97.98%. Every year, graduates are employed internationally, and many of them have been admitted to well-known domestic universities such as Guangdong University of Foreign Studies and Guangxi Normal University.
